Millicent Bernard, RN/Director of Nurses

I was born one of 17 children in the hills of Jamaica, located in the West Indies. I was successful in accomplishing academic courses from the University of the West Indies, and Cambridge University London, in preparation to enter into the world of medicine. Thirty years ago, I migrated to the United States to pursue a career in nursing.

As a registered nurse, I have worked in various settings, wearing different hats, such as triage nurse for the hospital, director of nursing for skilled and assisted living facilities, administrator for assisted living facilities and a home care agency, and also an educator for a pharmacy. A year ago, I was honored with the privilege of joining the team at Terracina Grand.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two lovely daughters, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, volunteering for Alzheimer’s training and activities supporting other facilities (especially during surveys), and hospital/nursing home visits. I just love what I do!

“Love gives itself; it is not bought.”
