I was born in Mississippi on a cotton farm and attended a small rural town school where, at most, the high school graduating classes consisted of 25 to 30 students. After graduation I didn’t want anything to do with farming so I moved to the nearest big city, the city of Memphis. I went to work for an engineering company and through that job I had an opportunity to work for an oil company in the oil fields. The next few years I traveled around, working in the oil fields but kept Memphis as my home. After awhile I grew tired of the traveling and returned to Memphis to work for the same engineering company. In 1981, I took a job as Maintenance Director for a retirement/nursing home. I took the job thinking it would be only temporary until something else came along. To my surprise I really enjoyed working with seniors and was there until 1990 when I was transferred to Florida. I took the Maintenance Directors position at Terracina Grand in May 2002. I can truly say that I live in paradise here in Naples, not only because of the beautiful beaches and weather but because I have the privilege of working for a great company with dedicated staff and wonderful residents. |
